                                                                   Chapter 8

     “What do you mean amnesia?” Georg practically yelled at the doctor.

“I’m sorry Mr. Listing, but we are in a hospital, I’m going to ask you one last time before you’re escorted off the premises; Please lower your voice.”

“I’ll stop yelling when you tell me what the hell is going on!” Georg glanced at Bill, sitting in the waiting room. The boy was a mess, and Georg didn’t blame him. He had been worried sick about his brother not waking up, and when he finally did, Tom didn’t even know who he was. Not to mention that he had hardly eaten or slept in three days.

“Fine.” The doctor sighed. “ We’ve confirmed that your friend does, in fact have amnesia. But It’s most likely, only temporary.”

‘Most likely?’ can’t these doctors ever give a strait answer? “Ok…So what does that mean exactly?”

“Well, it means that his memory should return in anywhere from a few days, to a month.”

Translation: about two weeks. “Should?”

The doctor paused. “There is a possibility that…his memory might not return at all…”

there’s the other end of the ‘most likely’ Georg looked over at Bill again. Poor guy…

     Bill was miserable. Sure he felt a little better knowing that Tom was awake, and he tried to put on a brave face for the other guys, but that was it. He was still miserable. Mostly because no one would tell him anything! He hadn’t even seen his brother since Tom first woke up. Something about having to run tests, and other doctor-y stuff that Bill didn’t care about. Georg had gone in to attempt to find something out, but Bill didn’t care. He just wanted to Know that his brother was alright.

Something beeped next to him, so he reached into his bag and pulled out his Blackberry. There was a message from his manager wanting updates. Again. Bill really didn’t feel like replying so he proceeded to close his phone. The he noticed another message. It was dated back to yesterday.

Pixie-boy:
Hey Bill, wher r u? I havnt seen u around. Did sumthing happen?

Bill replied,

Hey kiro…srry, ive been @ the hospital…

A second later Bill’s phone beeped.

Hospital?? Wat happened?? Lets open a chat, it easier.

B: Ok, im here

K: me 2. So wats ^? y r u at the hospital?

B: Ther was an accident….w/ Tom…

K:…what kind of accident?

B: He hit his head…im worried, he woke ^ yesterday, and asked who I was!

K: Amnesia?

B: I guess…

K: aw billa…im so sorry! Howd they say he hit his head? Just curious

B: Well…he was in a bar…so I guess he got drunk and fell…

K: is that wat the doc told u?

B: no, he says that the hit was to hard for him just to fall…y?

K: no reason…he coud hav fallen of a chair or something?

B: I guess ur rite…bt the bartender wasn’t ther wen it happened & he sed that ther was sum1 else there…do u think he got in a fite?!

K: mayb…do they kno who it was?

B: the bartender didn’t get a close look so the only 1 who woud kno is tom…and…well u kno…

K: yea…things just happen so fast…

B: ur telling me…

K: so how r u bill? This must b hard 4 u…

B: just knoing hes awake helps…bt I wish they woud let me c him!!

K: well im here if u need a shoulder to cry on! Jk ;D

B: haha! Thanks, bt it mite hurt my neck leanin my head all the way down ther!

K: o haha [sarcasm] a short joke huh?

B: ya! Wat bout it??

K: o nothing…..lion head >;]

B: wanna say that again pixie-boy?

K: ya, mayb I will lionheadlionheadlionheadlionheadlionhead!!!!!!!

B: even w/o my hair, I still got a good 3ft on you munchkin!  

K: better 2 b a munchkin than freakishly tall!

B: *gasp* I. AM. NOT!

K: “o noes!! Watch out children, the giant monster will squish u!!”

B: *looks around* Kiro? Wherd u go? Oh! Ur under my shoe! Here, lemme pick u off with some tweezers…*pluck*

K: only ud carry around tweezers u girl…

B: oh no u di-int!

K: o yes I di-id! XD [I stand corrected, ur a black girl]

B: shouldn’t u b with peter pan?

K: those are fairies, not pixies u idiot.

B:wats the diff Tinkerbelle?

K: D=

B: that’s rite! I went ther!!!

K: that was cold man…

B: im srry, here *hands a sock* that should keep u warm…plus itll have extra room!!

K: grr…

B: o man, Gustav’s here with my coffee,! G2g

K: *scared* u + coffe???

B: shut up!

K: LOL!! Ok, ttyl Simba

B: ha, bii TINKERBELLE!

Bill felt a little better now. There was something about that boy, he could cheer Bill when no one else could. The only other person who could do that didn’t even know who he was…

    Gustav had to pause at the door of the waiting room. Bill was actually smiling! He hadn’t smiled in days, and frankly, he was getting worried.

“Why so happy?” Gustav asked, setting down the drinks. Bill grabbed his iced coffee and took a big slurp.

“Just talking to a friend.” Bill smiled. Again.

“Really? Who?”

“Oh you don’t know him…his name’s Kiro.”

“Kiro? As in the one from that band you always talk about?”

“The one and only!”

“Wow Bill, that’s cool! Have you met the rest of the band?” Gustav didn‘t really know much about Cinema Bizarre, but Bill was actually smiling! So they were worth it.

“Not yet…but we’re thinking about getting together. Like, our bands going out to dinner or something!”

That’d be great publicity…plus I really wouldn‘t mind meeting these guys Sounds fun!

Then Georg walked in, with a slightly upset, slightly aggravated look on his face.

“Hey guys…we need to talk.”

So much for smiley Bill…
